Here are a few sample pages of the watercolor illustrations of A Day At Violeta, a children's book I've had the pleasure of creating about, with, and next to the children and teachers of Violeta Montessori School, in Cambridge, MA. Check out the store if you'd like to purchase a copy!
Dance
These dance-inspired oil paintings are an experiment in movement and expression. In each piece, I explore the impressions of movement, touch, atmosphere, connection, and dissolution of forms. They are primarily based off reference sketches and photos of local contra dances and friends. 2011.
Portraits
These are an assortment of paintings of family, models, professors, and friends.
I spent 2012-2013 in Morocco, teaching English. Although painting while traveling can be challenging (so much stuff!) I did some small pieces. They cover a little bit of the huge range that is Morocco's diversity.
Landscapes, Seascapes, en plein air
These are plein air studies of beautiful places I've lived -- mostly the water, admittedly. It's a love affair. These were all done in a one fell swoop, each. 1) go to beautiful place 2) look at colors 3) immerse self 4) paint and be free 5) never look back.
