I find myself in love, again
again and again with synchrony and understanding and touch, with parallels that breed empathy, with a look. with many, and their hands with the light with steam rising in the morning turning with voices in fall air with the day and the heat of the field with waltzing in sweaters, a rhythm held low to the hips and cupped gently, a pulse of intention and harmony and trust and exploration we talk about love as if it's going to run out dry up, run away, or ossify, a testament to youth long past or unattainable, impossibly far and high and cold as if it weren't warm under us beating up through the floor I find myself repeating this time, that year, this space that you, and I -- and I worry, some about loss and grief since it happens, and has that this moment, so ripe and sheltered is laced through with everything we each come to bear stories held in this embrace this memorial of great love as immersed in the wonder of you this for that but it's this and that both and it's hard to explain myself sometimes the welling up of potential and isn't it wonderful how we move together september 2015, copyright sarah hirsch the resonance of you
a low hum is the crux heat and pressure breath and silence synco pated we lie deep words bubble up foam at my lips speak blink the shadows into clarity toss the rise and fall your chest is a sea asleep september 2015, copyright sarah hirsch |
