let spring bring growth

Picture
let spring bring growth

like allowing the sap to rise
and my blood to thunder quick

may the dragonswing leaf unfurl
dark, fragile, impossibly strong

let it be so

please forgive the magnolia,
the apple and cherry, for bursting forth

the grass arduously pining through every sidewalk crack,
my skin, still present after all these months

tumult has a clanging need to be heard
and I've never been good at waiting
